To be a leading organization that helps facilitate the spiritual growth, serves the community, and acts as a community center in addition to being a masjid. Ultimately uniting everyone to make a better positive difference in the world.Burlington Masjid is a welcoming house of worship and community center serving Muslims in Burlington, Alamance County, and the surrounding Triad region. Our community is diverse—made up of families and individuals from many backgrounds—united by faith, prayer, service, and a shared commitment to building a strong, compassionate community.
Our Story
For years, the Muslim community in Burlington gathered wherever space was available, including rented locations for prayers and weekend learning. Over time, the community worked steadily toward establishing a permanent home. In 2015, Burlington Masjid acquired its current home on South Mebane Street—a building that previously served as a church—and began using it for prayer the very same day. This milestone helped transform the masjid into not only a place of worship, but also a space for community connection, education, and service.
What We Offer
Burlington Masjid exists to support the spiritual and community needs of Muslims in the area. Through the masjid, families come together for congregational worship, learning, youth activities, and community-building. We also encourage neighbors and visitors to learn about Islam through respectful engagement and open hearts.
Youth & Community Life
We believe the masjid should feel like a home—especially for the next generation. Our youth and family programming is designed to strengthen faith, character, friendship, and a sense of belonging.
